Brief
Metamark, a leading manufacturer of self-adhesive vinyls and material supplies, wanted a ‘Top Gear’ themed piece of branded video content to align with the launch of their new high-performance vinyls.
We were commissioned by the brands’ design agency, Shoot the Moon, to manage the project from start to finish and deliver a campaign video that would appeal to the brands’ customers across the automotive, racing and car modification communities.
*Safety was paramount! Shooting high speed vehicle to vehicle video requires extensive planning, precision driving, clear communication and should only be conducted by experienced crews.
Production
Metamark sponsor racing driver Tom Jackson, so it only seemed fitting to head out on the tracks with a branded vehicle to see what he can do.
The film was shot at Brands Hatch F1 race track in Kent on a cold winter’s morning. We setup base camp in one of the on-site garages and began rigging our equipment. With only a 20 minute window on track to capture all the footage required for the edit, every shot was planned down to the second - allowing us to focus on getting creative with each frame and not falling out the back of the lead car (don’t worry, we have a full body harness and safety lines).
Output
After taking care of the grading and editing of the final film, we delivered a suite of assets for use across the brand’s website, social channels and sales material.
