What exactly is a 'bank' of content?

Traditionally, a client would come to us and ask for creative video production services. That could be a TV commercial, a piece of branded content or a campaign film. Since our inception in 2017 we’ve always doubled down on over-delivering assets to maximise a client’s investment, but what exactly does that mean?

In our opinion, the days of one video and done are long gone. Now, when we think of a video campaign, we always explore what else can come off the back of it that can be used in other areas.

Can we get extra assets to be used in blog posts, web banners, presentations or social channels?

As an example, we recently partnered with OMNE agency to deliver a new campaign for Shipyard Brewing Company. This consisted of 3 days on location with models and pets and 1 day in the studio.

The main deliverables included:

  • 1 x 30s 16:9 brand film - (6 versions in various formats)

  • 3 x 15s 9:16 edits

  • 72 x stand-alone video clips mined from the main brand film ranging from 5-15s in length

  • 63 x studio super-slow motion clips (perfect for product details, in our case beer pours)

  • 32 x 5K screengrabs

All of these assets are placed onto a google drive link ready to download and use as you please.

Each project is different and we aim for a minimum number of deliverables. Time permitting we strive for more, providing as much value as realistically possible. For every project moving forward we will be delivering a main edit, social cuts and high resolution screengrabs (courtesy of our 5K RED Gemini cinema camera).

And the options for maximising what comes out of a production can go ever further. With a slight increase in budget, you can consider:

  • Photography - shooting stills and video simultaneously with a team that works collaboratively can be a great way to get more content from a shoot.

  • Behind-the-scenes video - this is a great way to show personality across a brand film. Video shoots are hard work but a great laugh. A BTS video depicts all of that and gives your customers an insight into how you created your masterpiece (check out ours below).

You get more shelf life on an idea and content that can be used for years to come. So, for every quote we produce for an upcoming project you’ll see a list of intended deliverables. Our challenge is to smash that into next week.
