Brief
Wildbounds is an independent British-owned retail shop and journal. They collate and sell brands with the coolest gear, focusing on craftsmanship and sustainability.
The brand tasked us with creating a short lifestyle film, to be used in an online campaign, that would get people excited about being outdoors, whilst highlighting the various key products from the Wildbounds online store.
Production
To featured a variety of products, we captured the adventure story of a young couple exploring the North Devon coastline. We went surfing, climbing, hiking, caving, and camping on a glorious autumnal day. The entire production was completed by a nimble, skeleton crew in one very long day.
All the location scouts had been done online and via local tour guides/influencers prior the shoot. We headed from Manchester to Devon the afternoon before shoot day and prepared our routes. We rose bright and early to catch the sunrise and limited waves.
The film was shot on our in-house Sony FS7 cinema camera and zoom lenses - shooting everything in 4K. We needed to keep kit fairly compact as we had to carry everything up and down cliff walls and therefore decided to shoot everything handheld using available light. For a more detailed look at the production, view the behind the scenes blog.
