The Brief
Goodyear Tyres, (on behalf of Jaywing) asked if we can showcase their new range of summer & all season tyres across a selection of rural and urban locations.
The high end photography needed to suit a European market with a premium and authentic feel. That all had to be reflected in the car selections, locations and art direction.
Planning & Production
Sourcing the locations, permits, cars and props to suit a Summer and Autumn brief was no easy task. Our team dedicated weeks to find the right locations that would work artistically and logistically showing the Goodyear and Dunlop tyres in their best light.
Being based in Manchester, it made sense to source locations within a reasonable distance from base. We knew of a few places in the Lake District that would be perfect (as long as we could get permission) so began our search there.
We recced every location to make sure the backgrounds and lighting would work for the photography. The online research can only take you so far and it wasn’t until arriving on and site speaking to the right people that we managed to secure the UK’s oldest slate mine as one of our locations.
The brief was to have a touch of lifestyle elements but no main talent taking attention away from the products. We did this with smart art direction and selective angles of the team.
Partnering with well known car photographer Jack Gray who came onboard to help bring these images to life. Production took place over 5 days mixing between the Audi A6, Audi Q5 and VW Golf GTi delivering a suite of images in various sizes to be used across web, social and print media.
