Manchester Dogs Home

Manchester Dog's Home provide food, shelter, veterinary care and ultimately re-home between 3000-4000 dogs per year in the Greater Manchester area. Volunteers from all walks of life donate their time to care for and exercise the dogs before they get re-homed. The benefits for the dogs is obvious. We wanted to focus on the positive impacts for the volunteers spending time with dogs and how it can help overcome stress, anxiety and other mental health issues.

Production

It’s always a challenge producing a short form documentary around a sensitive subject. We spent a full day exploring the Manchester Dogs Home and immersing ourselves with the staff and volunteers building a rapport and unearthing the stories.

Since the release of this documentary we have received multiple messages and emails from new dog owners who have re-homed many of the dogs featured.
